GETTING BEEFY AT BALANCE BISTRO


 

As some of our guests may have noticed we are very excited to add the renowned Angus beef to our meaty repertoire! From our juicy and tender burger patties to rump and sirloin as well as an exciting biltong selection, we have ensured that we have catered for those meat lovers.

We have recently purchased a few of the esteemed cattle to rear especially for the bistro. This development was designed by our innovative MD Gerhard van der Wath along with Chef PJ Lombard in order to push the bistro to “new pastures” offering our guests a truly one-of-a-kind dining experience.


BALANCE BISTRO BUZZING

Since the opening of our Balance Bistro some three years ago this attractive restaurant in the beautiful surroundings of our cellar has been drawing patrons from far and wide. And the attraction has not only been talented Chef PJ Lombard’s delectable cuisine served with award-winning wines from the Overhex stable. Named after the world-renowned Balance wine brand with its lovable elephant on the label, the bistro has developed its own charming and welcoming ambience to become one of Worcester’s most favourite eateries.

Due to this growing popularity, two important new appointments have recently been made. Welcome to Chantal de Winter, Bistro manager, and Chandré Moodie, assistant chef.



 


Equipped with a BA (Creative Brand Communications) and passionate about food, the enthusiastic Chantal believes that “food is love”!  She adds that “it is a joy to be serving delicious food in the inspirational setting of Balance Bistro.”

Born and bred in Worcester, the 18-year-old Chandré qualified at Warwick’s Chef School to realise her dream of becoming a professional chef. She specialised in patisserie and believes that her sweet tooth helps to create decadent desserts and cakes that are not for the “faint at heart”!

We look forward to the contribution of these two new members of our Bistro team. At the same time we would like to thank our loyal patrons for their great feedback and continued support.


BALANCE BISTRO SEPTEMBER MENU

Winter is slowly lifting its chilly blanket off of the Breede River Valley and with the change of season sees a few changes on the Balance Bistro menu. Early risers can expect breakfasts that not only satisfy South African appetites but also offers an option for those seeking some French flair in their breakfast routines. We will also be offering our Saturday lunch guests some exciting blackboard specials, so keep those eyes out for hints on our Social media pages.

As always our chefs are constantly busy experimenting with new ideas in the kitchen. This means you may never know what to expect when dining at Balance Bistro…
